Faculty Book Club Online
Held on three consecutive Tuesdays. Join colleagues to read and discuss the book Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom by bell hooks (1994). Bell hooks just died in December 2021, and reading this classic together seems like a great way to honour a woman who contributed so much. “Widely admired as a leading black intellectual, hooks is also an inspired teacher, teaching students to ‘transgress’ against racial, sexual, and class boundaries in order to achieve the gift of freedom."
We will meet on three consecutive Tuesdays from 3pm to 4pm: October 11th, 18th and 25th, 2022.
Please register to receive a copy of the book, courtesy of Camosun College Faculty Association PD fund.
